About

I am a multidisciplinary designer born and raised in Maine and currently based on the East End of Long Island, New York.

After graduating from Wheaton College I spent time as a designer and fabricator with John Bisbee, a renowned sculptor based in Maine. During this time my designs were exhibited at several highly regarded art institutions.

In 2019, after completing a Master’s degree at Savannah College of Art and Design, I began my career in Industrial Design as a designer for OXO and Hydro Flask in New York City.

What led me here

I've always been most inspired by the talent of others, first by my mother, an illustrator, graphic designer, and sculptor, then by my father, a retail entrepreneur with an eager interest in products and the ability to tell a story that delighted the customer.

what I can do.

Design Research

I plan and carry out in-depth research processes and strategies which lay the groundwork for new product development. I define or validate project objectives in response to real user needs and behavior. I try to identify challenges a project may face so strategies to work through them may be implemented early. This work proves essential as it ensures we are designing for actual user needs, helps us identify risks, and informs our project timelines and forecasted costs. During the development process, it acts as a measure of progress and keeps us true to the original objectives.

Brand Development

I work with brands to understand how they identify themselves, how they might be perceived by their users and customers, and what can and should set them apart from their competitors. I use brand storytelling to present product strategies and establish a common understanding of the brand voice and visual brand language across product development teams.

Industrial Design

In response to the demands of a brand and insights from the research phase, I develop product concepts. I use an iterative design process that begins, quick and dirty, with loose sketches and “Frankenstein mock-ups”. I then refine through detailed modeling, high-fidelity prototypes, and renderings. I place special importance on user needs and preferences and perform thorough user testing throughout the development. I work with engineers to navigate manufacturing constraints, improve functionality and quality, and prepare the final CAD for quote and manufacture.
